Wealth and Poverty
Mathematics is a tool that we can use to make judgements about the world around us. One of the persistent questions that can be measured with mathematical tools is wealth and poverty. Why are some nations rich and others poor? Over the next few weeks we will explore this question. Today I want you to begin to research which countries have the most money and which have the least; You can use a table, a map, pictures, video or any other resource you can find. Post your research in the comments section. Write one paragraph that answers this question: why is the United States considered a rich country? show the mathematical evidence that supports your claim.

the United States has always been a rich country because of it's people and the democracy that we have enjoyed. free enterprise and hard work make a country great and rich. people without jobs are helped with assistance from the government. unfortunately giving things to people has become an excess. too many people get on the gravy train of handouts . for some folks living off others work is a way of life. they take no pride in being self sufficient. poverty is a comparable state. no one in this country need go hungry. weeding out the lazy and welfare smart parasites among us would make it easier to take care of the aged and disabled
